Baltimore, M.D. is becoming greener every day. The city's first Annual Sustainability Report was released on April 19, 2010 as part of Baltimore Green Week's City Day. The annual report outlines the progress made to date toward achieving the goals of the Sustainability Plan and highlights the great work under way to benefit the economic, social, and environmental health of Baltimore.
Baltimore is making its mark on the sustainability map through major city initiatives such as cleanliness; pollution prevention; resource conservation; greening (trees, recreational space, enhancing local food system structure by building on creative initiatives that can improve citizens' access to healthier, locally-grown food); transportation (vehicle sharing and transportation equity and funding) ; green schools, environmental youth programs; and green jobs and businesses.
