BOSTON, Mass. -- Powerhouse Dynamics announced that they have begun shipping the eMonitor4, a new generation of hardware for their home energy management system. The eMonitor was first released in 2010 and has since been saving customers 10-20 percent of their energy bills on average, and as much as 35 percent in some cases.

“With this new generation” said Martin Flusberg, Powerhouse CEO, “we listened to our customers. The biggest single request was for a wireless version, which the eMonitor4 provides with Wi-Fi Internet access as well as wireless communications from the electric panel to a Gateway, avoiding the need to run wires outside the panel.”

The eMonitor4 is based on the same platform as the eMonitor c-Series for small commercial facilities released last year. In addition to wireless communications, the system offers a more powerful entry level option and a more flexible expansion path. Since a Gateway can support multiple eMonitors, customers with multiple units can see significant cost reductions. The system also integrates Wi-Fi thermostats for added control of energy costs.

The eMonitor software service is delivered over the web and via mobile devices, and turns energy data into actionable intelligence by analyzing and diagnosing the data and delivering energy savings recommendations, along with cost, usage, safety and appliance performance alerts.
