Monaca Fixes 200,000-Gallon Per Day Leak
A computer screen at the Monaca, Penn., municipal water department displays the status of its water distribution system. Soon after installing the "smart" system, borough officials used it to discover a 200,000-gallon-per-day leak, which local residents had always thought was a natural spring bubbling from the ground. This and other sustainability initiatives in Monaca are poised to save the borough millions in the years to come.
